PUBLICATION ETHICS
Mahabbatu Syi’aruna: Journal of Islamic Family Law is firmly committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and strictly follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties involved in the publishing process—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to adhere to ethical standards to ensure the integrity and quality of scholarly communication.
1. Duties of Authors

Submit only original works that have not been published elsewhere or under consideration in another journal.

Properly acknowledge the work of others through accurate citation and referencing.

Disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence the research or its interpretation.

Ensure that all co-authors have made a significant contribution and have approved the final version of the manuscript.

Immediately notify the editor if a significant error or inaccuracy is discovered in the published article.
2. Duties of Editors

Make editorial decisions based solely on the academic merit of the manuscript, without discrimination on the basis of gender, religion, ethnicity, or political views.

Ensure a fair and double-blind peer review process.

Maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts.

Prevent any form of plagiarism and academic misconduct by using similarity detection tools.

Take appropriate action in cases of suspected ethical misconduct, including issuing corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern.
3. Duties of Reviewers

Provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations of the manuscripts.

Maintain confidentiality and not use the content of submitted manuscripts for personal gain.

Identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the authors.

Inform the editor of any suspected plagiarism, duplication, or research misconduct.

Decline to review manuscripts where there is a conflict of interest.
4. Duties of the Publisher

Support the editorial board in handling ethical issues following COPE guidelines.

Ensure the permanent availability and preservation of published content through archiving systems (LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, or PKP PN).

Uphold academic integrity by promoting transparency, accountability, and ethical standards in publishing.
